Botton Village

Nestling at the head of a lovely dale in the North York Moors National Park, Botton Village began as the world’s first Camphill community for adults. Today it is also the largest, providing a home to over 300 people, around half of whom have special needs. Over the years the great generosity of friends has enabled the village to develop many facilities and features typical of Camphill communities throughout Britain. You are free to visit the village and discover our working community at your own pace – around every corner are interesting places to see and people who will be interested to meet you! You may also enjoy exploring Botton’s beautiful natural environment on foot, on one of our four nature trails.

Botton Village can be approached via the A171 or the A170. From either road, turn off for Castleton and from Castleton follow signposts for Botton. You’ll find most of our facilities and workshops open from 10.00-12.00 and 14.30-17.00 weekdays. At the weekend, only our Bookshop, Gift Shop, Village Store and Coffee Bar are open; hours vary so please contact us for current times or any other information you require on 01287 661294 or at family@camphill.org.uk
