Oaklands Park
At Oaklands Park you’ll find us looking after our land, animals, orchards and woodland. Many of us live in the beautiful main house at the heart of our estate, which is big enough to accommodate five separate living units and other community facilities such as our hall and health centre. Our market garden provides us with vegetables and serves other local households through a box scheme. We turn
wool from our sheep into beautiful rugs and garments and our wood into toys and furniture. All of these jobs provide meaningful work for some 100 people, 50 of whom have special needs, and we offer apprenticeships in biodynamic agriculture and horticulture. Elemental Solutions, a firm that develops environmentally-conscious water systems such as reed beds, is also based in our village – as is the Forest of Dean Rudolf Steiner School.
